Hello, and welcome to Michel Notko fan site!

Michel Notko was a French singer-songwriter. He started his career as a musician in 1960, but did only five records, from which the most notable is his insightful J'ai été vers le bas from 1976. This site is ran by Michel's Finnish relatives, who consider Michel's work valuable, at times even genuinely original. Michel is not very well known in Finland, and his work is never published on cd even in France. We have ripped some of Michel's music from old LP's (with permission of the record companies, respectively), and we also found a couple of demos with the help of kind French enthusiasts (thank you, Vivian and Maurice!). The songs are able for you to listen at the discography section. Michel took a long break after his thus far latest album, La chaleur, and his collaboration with a major experimental act was left unfinished.
